Mike Wood has been coaching baseball, hockey and soccer on the Miramichi for the past 40 years. Mike has coached every year of his teaching career, school teams and community teams, young children and older children. He continues to coach in retirement, volunteering his time to the children of the Miramichi. On the occasion of his retirement in June 2007, the student council and parent support committee requested that the Gretna Green Elementary School gym be named after Mike because of his countless hours of volunteer work with children of his community.
