Wayne Cameron, who passed away at the age of 48 in 1990, is to be honoured posthumously for his achievements as a hockey organizer, promoter, and manager in Newcastle, N.B. Wayne was a key organizer in the intermediate and senior hockey programs in that community for more than twenty years, beginning in the 1960s. His most notable success was with the national-championship Miramichi Gagnon Packers, 1986-1987.
